Can't Pass AIRCARE in Coquitlam

Postby 73Fleetwood » Fri Apr 16, 2010 2:20 am

Hi all,

i have a 73 Fleetwood that just won't pass Aircare...
i tried some of the tricks in the book like driving on the highway before and putting Super unleaded fuel, but that doesn't help.
my numbers are almost double of what they should be.

does anyone know a mechanic that specializes in Caddies and could tune the carb or something?

thanks for your help, i need to get those Collectors Plates!

You might try

Gord McDonald at Mapletree Auto Repair
604 322 9007

or

Dave Tate
604-466-3956

Both are quadrajet savvy.

Sorry for the bum steer re carb doctors. It's been a while since I had a carb rebuilt and people move on, I guess. Would be interested to hear of your experience with JEM.

Yeap I have to take it there Tuesday.

I also wanted to ask you guys if you know anyone that can refurbish the leather on my driver seat.
The car has white leather and the front seat has some cracks...

thanks again!

Try Willie
at car top in Richmond he has done a few club cars and has been in business for many years doing cadillac limo's in the 80's
he can be a little tough to get ahold of i will check for his card and post the phone number for you.

Sorry for the delay guys...
have been busy cruising around in my Fleetwood!

JEM came through, they tuned my car, checked everything and even took it to pass aircare for me.
Overall, a great experience.

They have a good crew there with experience in older cars and Wayne is the man you want to talk to.
I am going back there for my radiator and other work!

Pricing is acceptable!

Do us all a favour and bring that Fleetwood to Victoria on July 11th for our Classy Caddy's at the Fort show.
We'd all love tosee her.
